After patch 4.04
Update added in-game HDR calibration options, however the implementation has major issues.
1. The Max Monitor Brightness slider adjusts the peak brightness, but stops doing so after a certain value. In addition, the actual brightness level is much lower than indicated in the value of the slider.
2. Slider Paper White adjusts the overall exposure of the game, but also affects the peak brightness.
3. The test image does not match the actual brightness levels of the game.
Use the table of some values below to evaluate the effect of parameters on the actual level of HDR peak brightness. If with this you can find an acceptable value corresponding to the peak brightness of your TV in HGIG mode, then do it. Otherwise, use your TV's DTM mode.
Max Monitor Brigtness | Paper White | ||
---|---|---|---|
300 | 400 | 500 | |
1000 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
1100 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
1200 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
1300 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
1400 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
1500 | 560 | 750 | 930 |
Before patch 4.04
The peak brightness in the game seems to be fixed and not adjustable. This game does not seem to use the PS4/PS5 HDR system calibration settings.
The main peak brightness limit is about 1000 nits. If your TV's peak brightness is anything other than 1000 nit, then use your TV's Tone Mapping modes.
Leave the Gamma slider at the default medium value.
